Rhode Residents Call Police On Pokemon Go Players

It’s only been out for a week but stories about Nintendo’s latest bout of Pokemania are getting stranger and stranger.

Reports say a crowd of players
gathering in Peg Paterson Park was waterbombed and then threatened and asked to
leave the area by police after residents made complaints about the increase in noise and rubbish.

The park has become a popular location for players looking
to maximise their progress through the game.

Canada Bay deputy mayor Helen McCaffrey spoke
to the Sydney Morning Herald about the sudden influx of players in the greater Rhodes
area.

“When playing Pokemon Go, we ask that people do
this with consideration to where they are: in residential areas, keep noise
levels to a minimum and bin any rubbish,” she said.

Some players were also booked for double parking.

It’s not the first time the New South Wales Police Force
have run up against players of the popular AR game and with Sportsbet now
running the odds on which Australian landmark will be the first to ban it, it’s
unlikely to be the last.
