After being pounded in legal systems scattered across the globe, Samsung is fed up playing nice with rival Apple and has released yet another commercial alluding to the company and its transfixed customers.The commercial starts by depicting (supposedly Apple) customers stuck in line, waiting for a new phone. One of them says: “Don’t you feel bad for all of these people just walking by?”
“They’re totally missing out on history, history in the making,” says another. As if standing in line is a moment that will be documented in the history books.
Suddenly a guy with a Samsung phone walks by. “You guys are still here?” he asks.
“36 hours is a small price to pay to keep all of my music and my movies. How could you give that up?”
The Samsung phone owner kicks off his sales pitch, saying “well I have all my music right here, my music streams right from the cloud and I have tons of places to buy my movies. What are you guys giving up?”
“Sleep” replies one guy, “vacation days mostly” says another.
“The feeling in my legs,” says the accompanying girl.
The commercial then points out “the next big thing is already here,” and claims it’s the Samsung Galaxy SII.
This is the second commercial dealing with preconceived notions that Apple’s iPhone is the only phone with decent multimedia capabilities. So far their tactics have worked, shooting the once obscure company into direct contention for top selling smartphone.
In fact, next week the company will be launching their highly anticipated Galaxy Nexus, running the new version of Android 4.0 and sporting a superior screen to Apple’s iPhone.
