Samsung Galaxy S8 Leaks Show Off ‘Infinity Display’

Samsung’s next flagship has leaked again, with new images revealing features of the Galaxy S8 and larger Galaxy S8 Plus.Slashleaks obtained images of the devices from an unnamed case maker, showing off reduced bezels and a large display, along with virtual navigation buttons at the bottom of the screen:

A patent filed with the US Patent and Trademark Office could also reveal how the new larger displays of the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus will be marketed. Samsung filed a patent for the term ‘Infinity Display’ in late January, potentially referencing both the larger display and the curved design of the new smartphone.

While previous leaks have shown the Galaxy S8 with an expected 5.8-inch Super AMOLED display, this may also be the first look at the 6.2-inch display Galaxy S8 Plus:

Due to the removal of the home button from the front of the phone, the fingerprint reader has been moved to the back of the device. It is located to the right of the camera in the leaked images, with cutouts in the case allowing for access.

In line with previous leaked images, the headphone jack is expected to remain. Samsung is also expected to move from a micro-USB port on the Galaxy S7 to a USB-C port, after first adopting USB-C in the Galaxy Note 7 last year.

Samsung said last month it would launch the Galaxy S8 in New York on March 29.
