Samsung is joining Panasonic in its push to move towards SD flash based video cameras, with the roll out of three new flash video cameras, including its first HD flash model.
Designed for ease-of-use and portability, all three camcorders record to SD card or internal flash memory. The entry-level model (MX10) records only to 4GB internal memory, the mid-range (DX10) offers hybrid DVD-flash memory recording, while the HD model (HMX10C) has 8GB built in memory & SDHC/MMC+ card compatibility.

“The flash memory also means no more juggling tapes, memory cards or DVDs, you can just record to the camera’s internal memory. Flash memory also means longer lasting battery life,” he said.
The top of the range high definition model can record to 720p resolution, and features 10x optical zoom and 90-minute claimed battery life. Like its DVD-flash hybrid brother, it also feature a 2.7-inch LCD touch screen.
Samsung says each camcorder has been designed to fit comfortably into the user’s hand without sacrificing style. They feature a Swivel Handgrip which is able to rotate through 150 degrees provides an easy way for consumers to not only hold the camcorder, but to also shoot video at very low or high angles, the company says.
This range also features the new i-Check button to provide status information on remaining battery time and memory capacity. All three models are available now.
