Sony has launched a 60GB HDD Handycam, which it claims can store an impressive 42 hours of video.
The manufacturer launched its first hard disk drive (HDD) Handycam a month ago, aimed at consumers who want to take advantage of long recording times.
Alongside the 60GB model (the DCR-SR80), Sony has also launched two 30GB camcorders, the DCR-SR60 and the DCR-SR40. Both of these can capture approximately 21 hours of video.
Both the SR80 and the SR60 feature a 1/5.5-inch megapixel CCD, while the SR40 has a 1/6-inch 800K CCD. The first two models have a 2.7-inch LCD monitor for 16:9 viewing.
Other features of all models include HDD shock protection, Carl Zeiss Vario-Tessar lenses and visual indexing for easy selection and playback of large numbers of clips.
They also feature a ‘One Touch DVD Burn’ function so you can easily make a disc copy.
