Sony Long-Life Walkman

Sony today released the Walkman E Series, a flash memory based range of digital music players, which claim to give three hours of battery life for only three minutes of charging.

The Walkman E Series is cordless – it connects directly to the USB port to charge or to download songs. The players weigh a tiny 28 grams and are available in 1 GB (NWE003) and 2 GB (NWE005) capacities.  Both are MP3 / WMA / ATRAC and AAC compatible and feature an FM tuner, and a sports timer.

Sony said its new series offers up to 28 hours of music in ATRAC format, and up to 27 hours in MP3 format, based on Lithium-ion rechargeable batteries.

The Walkman kit includes the latest version of SonicStage 3.4 software for music management. Optional accessories include a sports arm band ($30), protective skin ($20), splashproof housing ($40) and an accessories pack of three USB lids and a sports clip ($20).
