Ipswitch, a company which develops network monitoring, messaging and managed file transfer solutions, has recently reported that 95 percent of all email received is spam.
This is in comparison to 93 percent of the previous quarter and only 70 percent over the same period last year.
Medication accounts for a quarter of all messages received in an email inbox, with pornographic emails coming in at second accounting for 21 percent. Undecipherable emails (usually taking the form of embedded images) occupies 18 percent, while gambling and Phishing emails takes up 17 and 12 percent of all spam email respectively.
Ipswitch Sales Director for Northern Europe, Chris Greaves said, “Spam remains the scourge of the modern business, resulting in lost productivity in offices throughout the land and shows no sign of disappearing.
