Stan and CBS Corporation have entered a long-term, exclusive licensing agreement, delivering all future Showtime series, along with hundreds of hours of Showtime programming to Stan.The deal sees Stan secure the rights for Showtime’s Billions, with Stan to also exclusively premiere Twin Peaks, as it looks to further establish itself in the market after launching early last year.
“The deal with Showtime rounds out an amazing first year for Stan, with over 1.5 million Australians having used the service across almost 700,000 subscriptions since our launch on Australia Day 2015,” Stan CEO Mike Sneesby commented.
Other Showtime programming which will also become exclusively available on Stan on SVOD includes House of Lies, The Affair, Penny Dreadful, Ray Donovan, Dexter and Californication.
Under the deal, current rights with other platforms will remain unchanged, with series to migrate to Stan for SVOD as permitted when existing commitments expire.
CBS series including Madam Secretary, Limitless, Elementary, Scorpion, Under the Dome, Extant, Beauty and the Beast, and Reign, along with every episode of every Star Trek television series, are also heading to Stan.
