The future of Apple product cameras could hold clever light field technology if a curiosity sparked in Steve Jobs for the technology comes to fruition.
Adam Lashinsky’s new release ‘Inside Apple’ has detailed former Apple CEO Steve Jobs’ interest in the Lytro light field camera, meeting with Lytro CEO Ren Ng not long before his passing.

Jobs was keen on the idea of revolutionising the way we take photos according to his official biography, and the iPhone taking the most popular camera spot (to the chagrin of pro photographers) on photography site Flickr last year cemented that ethos.
A meeting between the two CEOs has raised speculation of a new breed of camera potentially making its way to future iPhones, where Jobs and Ng met to discuss how Lytro could work with Apple.
The two met in June 2011, where Ng demonstrated his camera technology that lets users take a photo now and focus later, soon after he announced the photo tech.
Neither the book nor Ng have detailed whether there has or will be any follow-up on this meeting or integration of Lytro tech with Apple products.
