Steve Jobs NOT For Sale

12″ Steve Jobs doll will not go ahead, its creator said.
Tandy Cheung, founder of In Icon, has pulled plans to sell a $99 figurine of Apple founder following his death in October.

The company have received “immense pressure” from the lawyers of Apple and Steve Jobs’ family, not to go ahead with mass production of the 12″ doll, depicting Jobs in his familiar black turtleneck and blue jeans, according to a statement dated January 15th.

“Though we still believe that we have not overstepped any legal boundaries, we have decided to completely stop the offer, production and sale of the Steve Jobs figurine out of our heartfelt sensitivity to the feelings of the Jobs family.”

“Regardless of the pressure, I am still Steve’s fan, I fully respect Steve, and his family, and it is definitely not my wish or intention that they be upset,” Cheung said.

However, the Hong Kong business man denies it was a money making racket and insists the project was “was driven by a fan’s admiration of Steve.”

The self-confessed Jobs fanatic created his own personal lifelike figure of the Apple legend which he “placed on my desk next to my Mac.”

“For the past 25 years I have been a big fan of Steve Jobs following his achievements religiously and using Apple products. His passing left me with emptiness, sadness and a feeling of great personal loss.”

It was thought Apple lawyers also had copyright issues about the replication of the iPhone and Mac which are included accessories with the figurine.

Fans who pre-ordered will also be refunded in full, according to the statement.
