Native Union’s Switch speaker is the life of the party
Native Union is describing the Switch speaker as the “Ultimate 3-in-1 portable speaker” and we have to concede: they have a strong case. For all intents and purposes, the Switch speaker is wonderfully simplistic, elegant in its design and resourceful in its functionality.
Shaped as a rectangular prism and coloured in mesmerising hues, the only real design accent is the rudimentary volume knob. It looks understated, but at no point does your faith in its sound prowess falter.

Break Out Box: Winner of the Australian Design Award. Inside this svelte body are three speakers-one of which is an active sub-woofer-and somehow they’ve managed to feature an enhanced bass reflex system. Considering this is a mobile speaker, one that you’ll carry round with you during work or play, that’s a fair amount of grunt. It connects to an array of Bluetooth compatible devices. A full-Duplex microphone makes it possible for the Switch to be used for conference calls and understand Apple Siri voice commands. Many speakers harbour an on board mic, but their fatigued designs press you to keep them at home. Not the Switch though; it will go with your suits or your beach thongs.
Native Union claims the Switch’s battery can juggle phone calls and music for up to 14 hours. Not only will this big battery out-party most, but it can be used to charge other devices-such as your camera, smartphone and tablet-by simply plugging them into the USB port found on its back.
