Toshiba 10″ ‘WORLD’S Thinnest’ Tab?

Hello Toshiba: Tabs are now rivalling models for their size zero premise.
Now Toshiba have brought Tab AT 200 to the table promising to be “world’s thinnest and lightest” tab on 10.1″ screen.

Announced today, the Tab runs Android 3.2 boasts a ‘Wide View’ HD screen, with impressive 1280×800 res, dual HD cameras (2 MP front and 5 rear) and more ports than you can shake a stick at: micro HDMI, micro USB 2.0 and micro SD slot to expand memory capabilities on top of 16GB Solid State Drive.

Multimedia wise, the Android tablet also has stereo sound, Toshiba Audio Enhancement and Auto Ambient Noise Equalize, on top of a High Def screen for videos.

Announced at IFA Berlin last July,  the 10.1″ touch tab also has another secret weapon – in the form of Gorilla glass by Corning, meaning super scratch resistant screen.

The sleek AT200 runs on the Android 3.2 platform and can be yours from from early February.

Measurements-wise, Tosh’s AT200 weighs in at only 535g and 7.7mm thick but is it really the skinniest tab around?

Well, it’s certainly lighter than even the 10.1″ Asus Prime launched last week, which is heftier at 586g and 8.3mm thin and slimmer than even LG’s new Optimus tab which measures 9.34mm.

The iPad 2 is 8.63mm thin and weighs as little as 630.22g making the celebrated Apple tab look like Tosh’s chubbier sister.

Looks wise, Toshiba next tablet has a metallic silver alloy finish, meaning the size zero model will also look good on your hand.

Super thin yet extremely powerful, you can do anything from emailing on the fly to watching movies in HD or keeping up with the latest videos on You Tube. There is strong music and video playback quality even in really noisy surroundings.”

Priced at $579, the Toshiba AT200 is “the new benchmark in ultra portability.”

And they could well be right.
