Toshiba gave its mobile entertainment range a boost today as they announced a flurry of devices, including a laptop with integrated HD tuner and new gigabeat players.
Toshiba’s new Qosmio G30 notebook ($4,299) incorporates a combined DVB-T/analogue tuner with a 17-inch widescreen LCD, dual-core Intel processor, and a massive 200GB of hard-drive space.
The latest NVIDIA GeForce 7600 chipset ensures both HD video and games will be replayed with the utmost graphical fidelity. The G30 includes the Windows Media Center OS, and in a bonus for users, the MCE infrared port is onboard – so no more carting around a separate dongle.
As well as the Qosmio, Toshiba announced its new gigabeat Flash MEP-05L 512MB ($179) and 1GB MEP-10L ($229) players, as well as an update to the hard drive models in the 30GB X30 ($429) and 60GB X60 ($569) players.
The Flash models include onboard voice recorder, line in, FM radio and up to 14 hours battery life.
The X series features a 20 per cent drop in size, USB host support for transferring files without a PC, and a 2.4-inch screen.
The gigabeat players are available now, while the Qosmio G30 will be available in early March.
