Toshiba’s Z830 was the frontrunner in the first wave of Ultrabooks. Now with 75 Ultrabooks populating the market in 2012, the company has released its follow up. Much like platinum selling artists, we’re wondering if their follow up album will be any good.

Its brushed ultra-metallic silver finish conceals a full sized HDMI, USB and SD ports. There’s a backlit keyboard, a USB 3.0 port, two everyday USB 2.0 ports and a 6 cell Li-ion battery for up-to 8 hours of battery life.
The result is a sleek Ultrabook that scrapes in under 20mm and weighs just 1.73kg.
Although it scarcely evades the anorexic proportions of 13.3 inch Ultrabooks, its increased RAM, storage and vast connectivity options make it an Ultrabook option that doesn’t require as many compromises. In fact, it’s better positioned against full bodied laptops.
With that in mind, its $1,499 retail price tag seems worth it.
