Forget Apple Store: Toshiba Pop-Up Lounge hits Sydney’s Martin Place today

The pop up lounge won’t be selling gear, however, rather it’s for people to come along and “get a feel” for products, a Toshiba spokesperson told SmartHouse.

Sydneysiders can gets “hands on” with Toshiba’s latest technology including LEDs, Ultrabooks and tablets including: 55″ VL Series LED 3DTV, 46″ LED 3DTV, 3D Blu-ray player,  10.1″ Tablet, Toshiba Satellite U840W Widescreen Ultrabook and the Qosmio X870 3D Gaming notebook.

Toshiba technology experts will also be on hand to provide demos and advice about the latest devices. And all from the comfort of a specially designed lounge room in Martin Place, Sydney CBD with a barista serving coffee.

Australia’s Olympic gold cycling medallist Anna Meares will also be in attendance at the Toshiba Lounge today with her gold medal today between 11.00am – 2.00pm.

This ‘pop-up’ trend is becoming popular for big tech names – Samsung opened a pop up store on Sydney George St late last year to push its Galaxy S II as iPhone 4S was about to be released, down the road from rival Apple, only to later open a fully fledged permanent store on the thoroughfare.

However, Toshiba have no such plans it appears, and the lounge will not be hitting any other locations in Oz.

Toshiba lounge will open today September 28, 7.00am – 3.00pm daily until Friday.

There will also be plus a host of cool prizes to be won.
