The two new ‘Series 5’ Ultrabooks from Samsung will go on sale in Korea, later this month.

The details of the ‘high capacity’ Ultrabook, revealed by Samsung.kr, features “ExpressCache” technology meaning true to its ‘Ultra’ word, will boot up in 7 seconds flat, deliver faster speeds for applications and web browsing.

The two Ultrabooks to be released – a 14″ and 13″ model, come complete with Intel Core i5 processor, 128GB SSD, along with up to 8GB of RAM to provide the best a laptop would offer, including an optional disc drive – unlike its Acer or Asus counterparts.

The 14-inch Samsung Series 5 Ultrabook is light and compact at 20.9mm thick, weighs 1.8kg, sports an aluminum exterior and are compact.

It also has a massive 1TB HDD of storage space and AMD’s Hybrid Graphics HD7550M for high quality gaming and video viewing pleasure.

The smaller 13″ Series 5 Ultrabook is 14.9mm, is lighter than its big brother at 1.4kg, has 500GB of storage space and a 16GB Solid State Drive, eliminating the need for a separate external disk drive.

Both models also feature LAN, HDMI and Ethernet ports.

The Series 5 ultra slim notebooks also allow “sun-drenched outdoor viewing screen, vivid images without glare” with its anti-reflective technology.

Samsung Australia spokesperson was unable to confirm if the Ultra’s will hit down under but we should get a definite answer soon.

Samsung ultra notebook series 5 could be sold in Korea for 1290- 1490 million won  or around A$1290 on conversion while the 14″ sells for 1.54 million won or around $1336.
