Virgin Flips The 4G Switch

Virgin is giving its customers the 4G treatment.Customers with a post-paid Virgin Mobile plan are in for a 4G treat as selected Sydney, Perth, Newcastle regions have been upgraded as of today. The 4G switch will be turned on in Melbourne as of the 15th of September, followed by Brisbane and Adelaide next year.

Virgin is encouraging customers to take advantage of 4G speeds by promoting the newly announced 4G version of Samsung’s renowned Galaxy SIII. It can be pre-ordered for $7 a month on Virgin’s $59 Fair Go Bro plan and will be shipping to customers as of next month.

Virgin Mobile Marketing Director, David Scribner, said:  “We know our customers use their phones more than ever for data and this launch will provide our customers with faster downloads and seriously quick mobile internet.

“As a pacesetter in the market, Virgin Mobile continues to offer great valued products and we are proud our customers are the most satisfied of all network providers.

“The launch of 4G is another step in delivering on our commitment to a fair go for all.”

Virgin’s Mobile Broadband will be getting the 4G treatment later this year.

Virgin is owned by Optus and will be using their parent-company’s next-gen FDD-LTE technology, which was switched on in the same regions for Optus customers yesterday.
