The 3 network is offering World Cup fans the chance to watch the all the games live on their mobiles for $8 per month.
The company is marketing the offer as a money- and sleep-saving scheme, which will reduce the number of soccer-related late nights as well as the amount of money fans will spend on beer while watching the games at the pub.
According to a 3 ‘straw poll’ of men aged 18 – 39, “More than 94% of football fans surveyed plan to drink beer during the tournament and 83% of the drinkers are planning to sink three or more beers each game – that’s 45 additional beers over the tournament at an average cost of more than $150.”
For $8 per month, 3 customers will get unlimited access to official FIFA video highlights of all matches, including those from 2002, all matches streamed live, replays, live scores, team profiles, match previews and reviews.
