Yamaha To Roll Out New Gear With Blu-ray, Bluetooth And Digital Radio Capability

Yamaha is set to roll out several new products this year in Australia with the Japanese company focusing on new new A/V receivers and home theatre systems with built in Blu-ray and Bluetooth capability as well as digital radio.

The company is also expanding its selection of digital radio-equipped receivers and for the first time will offer a stereo Bluetooth option that will also have HDMI 1.3 inputs and decoding of all Blu-ray and HD-DVD surround-sound formats.

The company is also set to roll out new entry level receivers which will be sold in mass retailers. Like last year, all of the new models accept an optional Yamaha iPod docking/recharging stand, but this year, the AVRs and HTiBs also get an optional Bluetooth module to reproduce stereo music streamed from a Bluetooth-equipped phone or Bluetooth-equipped MP3 player. The option connects to the AVRs and HTiBs via 3.5mm minijack input. Pricing was unavailable.

Of four new 5.1-channel models that Yamaha Australia have to select from two models will allow the playing of digital radio that is set to be rolled out in Australia later this year. They also feature Neural XM HD Surround and Yamaha’s proprietary Parametric Room Acoustic Optimizer (YPAO).

All  new models, include two HDMI inputs and one output, and all accept optional Bluetooth module. As in the previous line, all connect to an optional iPod dock and feature compressed-music enhancer circuitry.

One of the new models, feature five flat speakers and a slim subwoofer for use with flat-panel displays.
