Yamaha has launched a very clever sound bar that oozes sonorous sound while complementing the design of your stylish flat screen.
The latest addition to Yamaha’s sound bar range is the YAS-101 and uses two 6.5cm cone speakers in tandem with a dual 7.5cm driver subwoofer to “produce size-defying audio ideal for movies and television viewing.”

Sound bars are often placed at the base of a TV, but doing so obscures the infrared technology your remote control uses to change the TV channel. Thinking ahead, the YAS-101 has an infrared receiver that channels the signal to the rear of the unit, allowing you to position it in front of the TV without inducing frustration when you want to channel-surf.

The 101 uses air surround xtreme technology to simulate a multispeaker setup, albeit without downside of sacrificing space for sound. This clever piece of software is joined by a software ensemble that works together to enhance the sound experience, including:
Clear Voice: ups the volume of dialogue narration
UniVolume: maintains volume consistency across various inputs
Audio Delay Control: Lip syncs audio track with the picture
Learning Function: Intuitive software learns when to turn on/off and adjust volume when using the TV remote.

The YAS-101 includes 2 optical/1 coaxial digital inputs, with the ability to connect an external subwoofer for even greater bass and is available now for $349.
