Local search site Yelp has landed. The Aussie site gives info on everything from restaurants, bars and dentists, and has more than 22 search categories.

And Aussies are can now become yelpers and rate local services in Melbourne and Sydney, the company announced today.
So, if you love or hate a local restaurant or play, then yelp about it.
Yelp.com.au business listing and information will be driven by Telstra owned Sensis.
Google’s new rival will be available throughout Australia in the coming months and is in just 12 countries, including United States, Canada, UK and much of Europe.
Yelp’s free apps are available on iPhone and Android mobile as is Yelp app for business.
“It’s easy to forget how much of an impact local businesses have on our day-to-day lives. Be it an auto mechanic, dentist, hair stylist or dry cleaner, we rely on them to help make life easier and more colorful,” said Jeremy Stoppelman, Yelp cofounder and CEO.
“Regardless of geographic boundaries, people seem to have this altruistic desire to share their great local business experiences with others.”
In its last quarter, 61m unique visitors used Yelp each month.
Since Yelp’s inception in San Francisco in July 2004, yelpers have written more than 22 million local reviews.
“We look forward to seeing what Aussies think of the site,” Stoppelman added.
