$10K Samsung TV In Big Demand Claims Harvey Norman Staff

The market for large screen TVs is starting to take off with Samsung Australia struggling to keep up with demand for their new 75″ $10,000 LED TV.

Staff at Harvey Norman Auburn told SmartHouse they sold 6 of the UA75ES9000 TVs during the last few days.

Apart from a massive 75-inch screen, the new TV incorporates Precision Black technology which delivers a 30% improvement in black levels; this is a technology that has given the Panasonic Viera TVs an edge due to their use of the Kuro engine.

Samsung has also managed to achieve an increase in overall sharpness, as well as a 60 percent brighter screen image.

Last week NPD DisplaySearch said the overall flat panel TV market is set to make a comeback after a 6% decline in Australia during the past 12 months.

They claimed that demand for large screen TVs over 65″ is set to grow.

In November LG will launch a new 84″ Ultra Definition TV that delivers 8 million pixels per frame, four times the resolution of 1080p high-definition displays.

A Harvey Norman TV salesman said “We are seeing demand for big TVs grow; we cannot keep up supply of the new Samsung 75″ TV, it is proving extremely popular”.

Measuring only 7.9mm wide, the TV features a pop-up camera that is hidden from view when not being used.

It also has a powerful 30W amplifier, MHL support and a dual core processor along with voice, gesture and face-recognition controls.
