It’s the console that’s now a 3D camera ..Nintendo 3DS is gaining new uses with the update announced today.

Nintendo 3DS owners will be able to capture 3D video, embark on new StreetPass Quests and transfer content from console to console as part of today’s system update.
This includes 3D video capture, which will allow you to record up to 10 minutes of video footage.
The video function also features special filming options for Spielberg wannabes including Interval Shot, which allows the recording of multiple images in short timed intervals, producing a piece of time lapse footage.
The ‘Frame Pick’ tool can be used to take many still images and join them together to create stop motion footage, similar to the way animation is created.
New features in the StreetPass Mii Plaza, includes panels to swap and collect for Puzzle Swap and gamers also have the option to embark on a new Quest, with more tools to help beat your enemies, in addition to new hats to find.
3DS gamers will be able to transfer content between their consoles including software purchased from the Nintendo eShop, account funds, save and transfer multimedia data including photos and music.
The 3Ds, the first ever glasses free console, has failed to capture the imagination of the gaming community as anticipated, forcing Nintendo to slash the RRP worldwide and is now $100 cheaper than its original RRP, at A$249.
The Nintendo eShop is also getting some improvements including giving users the option to play demo versions of select games, prior to purchase.
There is also the option to conduct downloads whilst the system is in Sleep Mode, allowing multiple downloads to conveniently occur when 3DS is not in use.
