The CEATEC Japan committee announced this year’s IT and electronics exhibition will open on October 3.
The show will be held at Makuhari Messe in Chiba Prefecture again and run for five days to October 7. The theme of this year’s exhibition will be “digital convergence changing society, lifestyles and business.” Organizers promise the 700 or so exhibitors at this year’s show will bring out “their best and brightest emerging technologies” for the 200 000 visitors they forecast to attend.
The exhibition is divided into the Digital Network Stage and Electronic Components, Devices & Industrial Equipment Stage, each of which has Zones for specific products categories. A new feature of the Electronic Components, Devices & Industrial Equipment Stage.
The program of 23 speeches will kick off on Tuesday, October 3, with Intel’s Eric B. Kim (Senior Vice President and General Manager of the Digital Home Group), Toshiba’s Atsutoshi Nishida (President and CEO), Fujitsu Limited’s Naoyuki Akikusa (Chairman), and Yoshio Utsumi (Secretary-General, International Telecommunications Union). Simultaneous English-Japanese interpreting will be provided at all keynote speeches.
In addition to exhibits the CEATEC Japan conference will provide a range of programs under the categories of Advanced Sessions, Special Sessions, Software and Solutions, Information Systems, Communications Networks, and Exhibitor Seminars.
Visitors to CEATEC JAPAN 2006 will be able to pre-register on the Web until October 7, the last day of the exhibition. Entrance to the exhibition is free of charge for pre-registered visitors. If you can afford to fly over, of course!
