PC Company Acer has rolled out a massive travel promotion that is set to put further pressure on Toshiba and Hewlett Packard who are being squeezed at the premium end of the PC market by Lenovo and at the mid to budget end by Acer.
The new Acer promotion that is exclusive to Harvey Norman stores at this stage, is being run in conjunction with several leading Hotel groups including, the Hilton, Westin, Sheraton, Mantra and Accor hotel chains.
Consumers who buy an Acer product get major discounts at key hotel resorts both in Australia and overseas.
At the Westin Resort in Nusa Dua Bali a 5 night package that normally costs $1,899 drops to $949 if you have purchased an Acer product over $499 at Harvey Norman.
New owners immediately receive up to $500 Acer Rewards towards their next holiday.
Acer executives said that if a customer happens to find a lower price than the Acer Rewards program offers at the time of booking Acer will match the rate.

Acer owners will get access to a travel brochure that lists hundreds of hotels where the discounts can be obtained.
A $199 a night stay at the 4 Star Mercure in Canberra falls to $99 with Acer Rewards while a stay at the five star Novotel in Melbourne drops from $179 a night to $89.
Acer CEO Darren Simmons said that the promotion is designed to deliver additional value for Acer customers.
The Company who next week will roll out a major new product range at an International Press Conference in New York which SmartHouse and ChannelNews are attending is looking to expand their consumer PC range this year with a new 24.8″ all in one PC that looks very similar to the Apple All in One PC as well as a range of new notebooks, Chromebooks and slim workstations.
Shortly after Lenovo moved into the Australian consumer market in November, HP moved to start discounting, in a move that has backfired with the Company recently reporting that PC profits had fallen.
Acer on the other hand has moved to running incentive promotions with partners who benefit from the business that Acer delivers to their properties.
