Fetch Introduces Download-To-Own: Game Of Thrones Season 5 Available For Purchase

Fetch TV subscribers will be able to purchase TV shows and movies under an initiative announced by the Aussie internet TV provider today. From today, Fetch subscribers will be able to download-to-own TV shows from the Fetch TV Store, including season five of Game of Thrones, with TV shows to be priced at $2.99 (SD) and $3.49 (HD) per episode.

Fetch states discounts will be available for the purchase of full seasons, with movie pricing to vary by title. TV shows and movies can be viewed via the Fetch TV box, with purchases also available to stream to smartphones and tablets via the Fetch TV app.

For those eager to get their hands on new releases, Fetch adds that many new release titles will be available for purchase on Fetch two or more weeks prior to their DVD release dates.

Other TV titles available include: Veep, True Detective, Entourage, True Blood, Wonderland, Empire, The Walking Dead, Broadchurch, Sons of Anarchy and Nashville, with the Fetch catalogue spanning 4,000 titles from 15 studios.

“Australians love their movie collections, and we are now seeing a rapid shift in preference from physical to digital ownership, as consumers embrace the convenience, early windowing, attractive pricing and multi-device viewing options,” Fetch TV CEO Scott Lorson stated upon announcement of the initiative today.

Earlier in the year, Fetch added Netflix to its service, having also introduced nine more channels, including BBC First, in February.

“The launch of Netflix in March has proven wildly successful, and we are expecting another very strong response to the popular TV shows and movies now available for purchase on Fetch TV,” Lorson commented.
