Fully Integrated In-Car PCs From Westwell

Westwell has introduced what is they claim is the world’s first fully integrated in-car PC into the Australian marketplace.

Both the Azentek CPC-1200 and CPC-1100 in-dash car computer systems provide users with all the features of a high-end car stereo, as well as GPS navigation, mobile phone integration via Bluetooth, multimedia playback and automobile diagnostics capabilities.

The CPC-1200 comes with Microsoft Vista-based PC, running off an Intel Core Duo processor and Microsoft Windows Vista. 

It allows users to play the radio, music files and DVDs; access GPS functionality; make and receive mobile phone calls; send and receive emails via voice recognition and touch screen. By integrating with the car’s engine computer, the CPC-1200 can receive data from the car, such as trip information.

It also has a 160GB hard drive, 1GB DIMM memory, hands-free calling, voice-activated navigation, DVD-ROM and CD-RW drive, 6.5-inch LCD-TFT digital touch screen monitor, internal WiFi 802.11b/g wireless connectivity, satellite radio and HD radio ready, as well as integrated FM and digital TV tuners.

The Azentek CPC-1100 in-car PC system provides users with up-to-date entertainment, business, telecommunications, navigation and automobile diagnostics capabilities.

Features include Intel Core Duo T2300 1.66GHz processor, 160GB hard drive, Microsoft Windows Vista, 1GB DIMM memory, HD radio and satellite ready, Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 950, Hands-free, voice-activated calling and navigation, 7-inch motorised LCD-TFT digital touch screen monitor, internal WiFi 802.11 b/g wireless connectivity, integrated FM and digital TV tuners, and optional vehicle diagnostics package.

Also released is the Azentek SmartMirror, a rear view mirror replacement with integrated GPS navigation. It has a four-inch touch screen LCD monitor with integrated Bluetooth functionality. This provides users with Bluetooth hands-free phone capabilities; incoming caller ID on screen and automatic call answering. The SmartMirror comes complete with reversing camera.

Other features include a 400MHz processer, 64MB internal memory, , Windows CE .NET 4.2, in-built GPS receiver, navigon mobile navigator 6.5, voice-prompted turn-by-turn directions, millions of points of interest, intuitive menus and 3D maps, spoken street names, as well as 2GB SD card for storing maps, pictures and ebooks
