Logitech is looking to simplify the smart home with its latest offering, the Pop Home Switch.Logitech describes the Pop as “a simple switch for controlling Bluetooth and Wi-Fi-enabled smart devices”, with it designed to work in conjunction with a number of smart home products.
Among the products the Pop is compatible with are products from Lifx, Philips Hue, Lutron, Insteon and SmartThings, with it also working with IFTTT (if this, then that).
Logitech advises that three different custom commands can be triggered by each switch.
“For instance, use a single press to turn all the lights in a room on or off,” Logitech states. “Or use a double press at dinner time to dim the lights and turn on your favourite Sonos jazz station. And since it works with Logitech’s Harmony hub-based remotes, you could even set a long press to start Movie Time in the living room.
“Each command can trigger a range of optional settings – turn connected devices on/off, adjust smart lighting brightness or scene presets, or quickly access your favourite Sonos music playlists and stations at a preset volume.”
Wireless and mounting to most flat surfaces, the Pop provides flexibility in its placement, while Pop add-on switches can also be added.
