Look Out: Heidi Klum, Nicole Kidman ‘Most Dangerous’ Celebs Online

Searching for Nicole Kidman or Naomi Watts goss online? Dont bother, as these leading ladies are among those branded the most dangerous celebs to search online.

Don’t search for me.

Victoria Secret model and Seal’s missus Heidi Klum has replaced Cameron Diaz as the most dangerous celebrity searches, followed by motor mouth Piers Morgan, Brad Pitt and Scarlett Johanson who also make the top 10, compiled by security experts McAfee.

Fans searching for “Heidi Klum and downloads,” “Heidi Klum and ‘free’ downloads,” “Heidi Klum and screensavers,” “Heidi Klum and hot pictures” and “Heidi Klum and videos” are at risk of running into online threats designed to steal personal information.

Nicole Kidman topped the Aussie toxic celeb online list (with nine per cent of websites testing positive for online threats) followed swiftly by Naomi Watts, Rose Byrne, Elle Macpherson and Chris Hemsworth.

Heath Ledger, Dannii Minogue and Nicole’s hubbie Keith Urban also made the Aussie list (although why cricket bad boy Shane Warne is not on it beats us!).

“Cybercriminals often use the names of popular celebrities to lure people to sites that are actually laden with malicious software,” McAfee warns.

Anyone looking for the latest videos or pictures could end up with a malware-ridden computer, instead of just trendy content.

“Searching for top celebrities continues to generate risky results,” says Paula Greve, director McAfee.

There may also be malicious content hiding in ‘tiny’ places like shortened URLs that can spread virally in social network’s like Facebook or Twitter, or through phoney e-mails and texts from ‘friends.’

Searching for the latest Heidi Klum pictures and downloads yields more than a nine per cent chance of landing on a website that has tested positive for online threats, such as spyware, adware, spam, phishing, viruses and other malware, say the internet security giant.
