New Samsung Samsung Alpha + Note 4 To Go On Sale Mid October

The new Samsung Alpha smartphone and Note 4 are tipped to go on sale at carriers in Australia in mid-October however pricing has not been announced.

At a gala event tonight in Sydney Samsung will officially show off their new smartphone offerings which are designed to compete head on with the iPhone 6.

SmartHouse is already of the opinion after seeing both the iPhone 6 Plus and the new Note 4 that Samsung is delivering a superior offering and that Apple still has a long way to go in the large smartphone stakes.

It is still uncertain as to what processor the new Alpha smartphone will have in Australia.

Samsung did say that it would be offered in the Exynos (quad 1.8GHz Cortex-A15 + quad 1.3GHz Cortex-A7) processor configuration or with quad-core 2.5GHz when it was announced in August.

The US is set to get the 2.5GHz version of the phone, which is said to be a Snapdragon 801 system on chip.

The 4.7-inch HD Super AMOLED screen is smaller than the Galaxy S5’s, but also sees a drop in resolution to 1280×720. It also comes with a 32GB of internal storage, a 12-megapixel camera on the back and a 2.1-megapixel front facing camera.

If the specifications from the August haven’t changed, memory should be expected at 2GB, battery capacity is 1,860mAh, and it has built-in 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac Wi-Fi, near-field communication, Bluetooth 4.0 Low Energy and LTE Cat 6.

The Samsung Alpha comes with Samsung software such as S Health as well as the ultra-power saving battery mode.

The all-new Samsung Galaxy Note 4 has a whopping 5.7 inch display screen that is Quad HD Super AMOLED (2,560 x 1,440 resolution) this is technology that stretches to 500 pixels per inch.

The Galaxy note was announced at IFA 2014 on September 3.

Samsung has confirmed that the Galaxy Note 4 will be available in Australia from mid October at both carriers and mass retailers.
