Salton Australia has issued a voluntary recall notice for its George Foreman Stick Mixer, as its blender blade may break away from the blender shaft during operation.
The affected model is the George Foreman Stick Mixer, model GFSM1, that has been available for sale in Australia between September 2009 and March 2010. Retailers who have sold the product include The Good Guys, Harvey Norman, Retravision, Target, Target Country, Betta Electrical, Harris Scarfe, as well as Internet sales direct from the company website.
According to the post on the Recalls.gov.au website, it is possible that the end of the blender shaft may break and that pieces of broken blades may enter the food being mixed.
Consumers are advised to immediately stop using the blender shaft attachment and contact the Salton Customer Service Department on 1800 190 400 for instructions concerning the return of the shaft and receiving a replacement part.
