Samsung S III War: Optus $60 V Telstra $59

Its the battle of the Galaxy’s as Optus, Telstra, Voda all release S3 plans simultaneously.
Samsung’s “hero” 4.8″ Galaxy S III smartphone, with its HD Super AMOLED display, ‘S-Voice and runs Android’s new 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, was finally unveiled in Sydney this morning after weeks of anticipation.

But no sooner than the announcement was made, Telstra, Optus and Vodafone pounced with plan details for 4.8″ next gen Samsung S III, pre-empting the iPhone 5, whenever it comes.

Optus is flogging the S3, Samsung’s new smartie for $60 a month on postpaid, while Telstra’s cheapest postpaid plan is under cutting it by $1 – at $59 – although charging a higher handset fee.

Optus customers can nab a GALAXY SIII 16 GB model on $60 Plan, worth $650 in all, with unlimited (standard) SMS, Optus to Optus mobile calls, 1.5GB data and and unlimited access to Facebook and Twitter, eBay, on a 2 year contract.

But on top of the $60 is a $5 handset fee monthly, but Optus is giving the Android 4.0 smartphone fee free for existing customers.

The S III is also available on a $80 plans with no handset charge, in a plan worth $850 in all.

A 32GB Galaxy S III is also available for $5-$10 monthly (on $60 and $80 plans) at the yellow telco with the same allowances as previous.

 And there’s also an identical priced deal for the smartphone that comes in ‘Marble White’ or ‘Pebble Blue’ for Optus business customers.

 Rivals Telstra are also selling the S III on $59 Freedom Connect Plan (+ $13 for the handset), so $72 in all for $550 calls/MMS, unilimted texts and 1.5GB data, on a 2 year contract.

The S III can also be bought on a $79 Plan ($3 p.m handset repayment) – and is worth $800 with unlimited calls and MMS,SMS and 2GB of data

This means Telstra higher tier deal is cheaper than Optus and comes with half a GB of more internet data.

 

Telstra Business customers can get their hands on GALAXY S III on the $59 plans also – but a higher $17 repayment – and includes unlimited standard national SMS, unlimited MessageBank diversion and retrieval in OZ, 1.5GB of data and free national voice calls to eligible mobiles on the same account.

Telstra capital city stores stocking the device today include Sydney George St and Bondi Junction stores, Melbourne’s Androidland  Bourke Street, Brisbane  George Street, Perth  Hay Street, Hobart Elizabeth Street, Adelaide Grenfell Street and Rundle Mall and ACT Westfield Belconnen.

Vodafone are also selling the S III 16GB model for $59 with $5 monthly repayment ($750 calls, texts, and 1.5GB data) and have a list of other deals that go up to $99 for 4GB data and Infinte talk and text.

All of the Big 3 telcos are also selling the S3 online.
