Samsung Strike Back With Galaxy A Series

Arising from the ashes of the Note 7, Samsung looks to be refreshing its lineup of handsets with the new Galaxy A range.

Starting with the 4.7-inch A3 and accompanied by the larger 5.2-inch A5 and 5.7-inch A7 devices, the company promises to marry design and performance together in a convinient package.

“At Samsung, we are always trying to ensure our customers have the most advanced products on the market,” said said DJ Koh, President of Mobile Communications Business, Samsung Electronics.

“The latest Galaxy A series is a testament to this,” Koh says, “we integrated our unique approach to design as well as the features Galaxy customers have come to love to provide added performance without compromising on style.”

Galaxy A devices come equipped with a premium metal frame, a sleek 16-megapixel rear camera with built-in auto-focus and comes with the same calibre of IP68 water and dust resistance as Samsung’s flagship devices.

Under the hood, the A7 and A5 each pack a 1.9GHz Octa Core with 3GBs of RAM. Meanwhile, the A3 lands with slightly less processing power. Featuring a 1.6GHz Octa Core and 2GB.

The company say that the range will take the hassle out of the everyday, with support for Samsung Pay and a Fast-Charge ready USB-C charger.

The Galaxy A will arrive in four stylish colors (Black Sky, Gold Sand, Blue Mist and Peach Cloud) from early-January.

Australian availability and pricing is yet to be confirmed but expect more info to come out of this year’s CES in Las Vegas.
