Vodafone Oz & NZ Go Head-To-Head For Cheapest Roaming

Vodafone Australia has stepped over its Kiwi brother with a drastic reduction of its data roaming charges to New Zealand after Vodafone New Zealand halved its Australian data roaming charges just last week. The new data roaming packs feature rates as low as 10c per megabyte, down from data bundles that previous started at $1.65 per megabyte.

The four new packages for Aussies heading to New Zealand include monthly subscriptions of $25 for 100MB, $50 for 300MB, $100 for 1GB and $200 for 2GB.

Across the water, Vodafone New Zealand halved its data roaming costs for Australia to NZ$0.50 per MB only a week ago, recently trumped by Vodafone Australia’s rates.

The European Union has just forced mobile operators in its side of the world to lower retail prices for its own roaming calls, though with little change to data roaming rates.
